Office of Water Security recognised for organisational excellence

The Office of Water Security is dedicated to improving water security outcomes for the Territory.

In 2023, the team were recognised for their outstanding work in coordinating the development of the Territory Water Plan.

Along with supporting Northern Territory (NT) Government agencies and Power and Water Corporation, they won the Organisational Excellence Award at the NT Water Awards in October. The award recognises significant and innovative water initiatives that drive prosperity, sustainability and transformative change.

As NT Water Award winners, they will represent the NT in the Australian Water Awards, which will be presented at the Australian Water Association’s Ozwater'24 conference in Melbourne 30 April – 2 May 2024. To read more about the award go to the Australian Water Association’s website.

The Territory Water Plan is the NT’s first whole-of-government strategic plan for water and aims to enable water security for all Territorians, now and into the future. The plan was developed following 2 years consultation with community, stakeholders and cross government collaboration. The office will report annually on NT Government’s progress on plan.
