Happy World Water Day!

This year’s theme is Water for Peace, which recognises how water can create peace or cause conflict. When people do not have equal access to water, this creates tensions across communities. Particularly as our communities grow, there is an even greater need to unite and ensure we have water security.

To ensure that everyone in the NT has equal access to water, the Northern Territory Government has developed the Territory water plan. The plan’s primary goal is ensuring that all Territorians have access to safe drinking water across the Territory, particularly people living in remote areas. The plan was developed after 2 years consultation with community, stakeholders and cross government collaboration.
