Water is essential to all life in the Territory

Over millions of years, it has shaped the Northern Territory’s (NT) environment. For the last 65,000 years, water has been central to Aboriginal Territorians’ lives and traditional culture. Today, it also supports our growing economy, our livelihoods and our vibrant urban, regional and remote communities across the Top End and Central Australia. As the Territory is growing, so is the demand for water. We need to consider water security for all Territorians, now and into the future.
